HELP!

When I got this email yesterday my heart started to hurt. Saving Grace is a non-profit organization that helps homeless animals find a home FOREVER.  They are the organization that saved Hank from the side of the road 2 1/2 years ago.  If you are thinking about getting a dog you should check out their website. Right now they desperately need donations, volunteers, and foster parents. Read the letter below:

Saving Grace has been very busy this week helping with a puppy mill seizure in North Carolina. A couple hundred dogs have been living stacked in cages, covered in filth, unable to get exercise (or in some cases, even fresh air). There are mothers and puppies as well as individual dogs. We are very glad to be able to assist in helping these dogs, but the amount of help we will be able to provide depends on you! We need your support in many ways. Donations are greatly needed. We are still working on making our building improvements to pass the state inspection, so our funding has gone to that lately. We will need monetary resources to get the dogs the medical treatment they need. Volunteers will be needed to help bath, groom, and care for these dogs when they come into the Saving Grace program. There are dogs of all kinds who will be in need of foster homes, so if you are willing to foster, please let us know. We will be working for weeks and months helping these dogs prepare for adoption by providing them with veterinary care, rehabilitation, and proper cleaning. The number of dogs we are able to help depends on the resources available, so please donate or volunteer to help us provide these dogs with the life they so deserve.

Thanks!

I cannot help but throw in a picture of Hank when he was a baby.

  1. This is heartbreaking. I've had many rescues and strays over the years and they have been the best dogs! I could eat your adorable puppy with a spoon - so precious! Thanks for spreading the word.

  3. My heart breaks for those dogs. My boyfriends pointer-lab is a rescue. My golden is not and I love him dearly... but I've always regretted not adopting. Wish I was in NC to help with the program!
